Its already become law in a little town in the Maritimes called Bridgewater.. that you cannot smoke in a car with kids under the age of 18 yrs. So I would say that soon other towns (cities) will follow..

Washington has had this law for awhile. Now all drive up windows have signs.. no smoking within 25 feet. I do find this one a bit ironic. because all the cars in line and the exhaust fumes going in...
There is no smoking within 25 feet of doorways or public buildings.

Really? that's awesome!
In AZ, we just recently got no smoking in public places legislation. We had this local hospital that was always a "no smoking campus" and I remember the nurses saying they had to go get in their car and drive aorund the block to smoke on their breaks.
Well, after the law went into effect, this hospital stopped being a "no smoking campus" and put an ashtray right by the E.R. door. I had to take my daughter in one day and we had to walk through a cloud of smoke to get in, and the smoke came in through the door a good 10-15 feet. I told the lady at the front desk and she just smiled and shrugged!
So, I reported them for breaking the no smoking law to the Health Department. I just saw they moved their ashtray away from the door and posted a big red sign that says "No smoking within 15 feet of the door."

That is one of the things they are working on in Canada, it will be illegal to smoke in a vehicle with children. A good one, I say! :)

Blue Cloud... I can's speak of how upsetting this is. Even when i smoked I would get so annoyed. Good point to bring that out.
These are awesome guys...Gals :)
Hey SF - it also gags me when I smell stale smoke on people. My husband reminds me all the time that I used to smell like that. One more reason why I don't want to go back!
