This is getting better by the minute, Terry!
You really are doing it. And that reward sounds fine. The point is that you are letting your brain know that there's a new sheriff in town, and she doesn't reward with a cigarette, she rewards with much more pleasurable things.

I don't think I know how to reward with a small piece of chocolate. I eat chocolate and hard candy and gum and mints and pretzels and carrots and yogurt like crazy all the time anyway. So that's not much of a reward. I pretty much spoil myself so it's very hard to find a reward but I did have my coffee and found a book.
Cool, 12:48PM and no smoke. Yipeeeeee

I've been trying to think of what reward I should give myself since I am always treating myself. I think I'll go to get a nice Vanilla Latte and a new book at lunch. Then I'll do the Happy Dance again when I get home tonight so no one thinks I'm crazy. LOL

Hi Terry Great day 2. I am on day 8... yes the chantix does help, I get urges.. they do not seem to be as strong.and much easier to fight off. But they will come and go so you still have to be prepared.. they pop up unexpectedly.
I plan on using the Chantix the 12 weeks. I may taped down.but I am not there yet and not thinking about that too far ahead. I am still in baby steps.. Before you know it the days fly by.. and give yourself a big pat on the back..for each time you say No..

It's amazing what this Chantix does for you. I remember what it feels like in withdrawl without any help and this is so much better. I just hope that when come off of the Chantix that I don't have to go thru withdrawls all over again. I plan to quit the chantix as soon as I'm comfortable with the smoking quit.

Hi Terry,
Just take it a few minutes at a time. You said you'd be here a lot today, and that's good. Keep reading, keep posting, and keep your quit. You're probably sick of hearing this, but trust me, it WILL get easier. Hang in, there. We're all rooting for you.

I'm way more anxious today than I was yesterday. Think I'm going to go outside and take a short walk. Geez it's only 9:45AM. This is going to be a very long day. OMG

You're more than 1/3 the way through the worst of it.
You can keep it going..15 minutes, one hour, then a day.
Remember...before you smoke ...post.
We've got your back Terry.
